What is neuropsychology?

Neuropsychology is the study of behavior, emotion and cognition (ways of thinking) in relation to the brain and nervous system. It focuses on the structures and functions of the brain, genetics, and other biological factors in order to learn how they affect all aspects of the mind.

It also plays an important role in predicting outcomes and establishing treatments plans for people with severe mental health conditions

What do neuropsychologists do?

Evaluate and treat conditions such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injuries, and learning disabilities.

Neuropsychological testing to see how a patient's brain is working.

Determine possible impairments and the severity.

Conduct research to learn more about brain functions and/or injuries or illnesses.
